So, yeah... I killed off a character from one of my shows. It felt fucking brilliant! Why? Well for starters, the reasons behind the killing was because, behind the scenes, I wanted to ring the actors neck for delivering his lines horribly and causing me to an excessive amount of grey hair. He's a SUPER sweet guy, with a huge heart, but needs A LOT of acting classes. Ultimately it's my fault for casting him. Oops. Second, I just couldn't find the right voice, script wise, for the now deceased character.
Admittedly, I've always hated the idea of killing off a character just for the sake of drama. It's our job as creators and writers, to make those difficult characters, interesting and create someone readers/viewers should care about. In this case... Nope.
The purging of a negative experience is important for the sake of the project and ultimately your reputation. How you handle the said purging, determines how you and your project will recover. After the decision to kill off my character, I began to create a replacement, and man, was I inspired. I found the happy and joy again with the prospects of the new and fabulous story-lines I have at my disposal.
Meet Blytz. The newest edition to my project, Buzz Throwdown. She's fun, sassy, and is just one of the guys. But that doesn't mean she's gonna welcomed with open arms. She's gotta make up for being the new gal on the show, as well and bump heads with another Technicolored reporter as well as fend off attacks from a new nemesis.
I'm excited to introduce this character to the show, and I hope you folks luuuuurv her as much as I do.
